Every year, the Dairy Business Association presents its annual Advocate of the Year award to a farmer who excels at managing their farms while actively engaging with their local communities and taking on agricultural leadership roles.
The Dairy Business Association honored Paul Fetzer of Fetzer Farms yesterday with the association’s Advocate of the Year award for his contributions to Wisconsin’s dairy community. The award, sponsored by Vita Plus Corporation, was presented during DBA’s Dairy Strong conference at the KI Convention Center.
Fetzer’s involvement in the dairy industry stems from the family legacy contributing to the greater good of the dairy community. He and his family manage their multi-generational centennial farm in Elmwood, Wis. The 100+-year-old farm has evolved over time into the modern, 1,400 cow farm it is today.
“I’m really amazed by this award and thankful for everyone here and those who aren’t here,” Fetzer said. “Our farm wouldn’t have gotten to where we’re at today without DBA and our involvement with positive consultants. I hope that our farm carries on for many more years and future generations to come.”

Every year, the Dairy Business Association presents its annual Community Outreach award to a farmer who are active in their community and share the stories and positive messages of dairy farms and products.
The Dairy Business Association, in collaboration with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, honored Duane Ducat of Deer Run Dairy yesterday with the association’s second annual Community Outreach Award.
“I’m honored to accept this award, and thank you to all of you,” Ducat said. “I’m very passionate about what we’re doing on our farm in terms of sustainability and using best management practices, but it doesn’t happen without the team. The Peninsula Pride Farms group has been fantastic to work with and work for, and it’s all of us coming together that’s making a difference in our sustainability work.”
Ducat farms in Kewaunee, Wis., with partners Derek Ducat and Dale Bogart. Their farm prioritizes sustainability for the benefit of their community, the farm and future generations to come.
