With climate change looming, farmers and the ag industry are exploring ways to adapt. Wisconsin policymakers and ag leaders are looking to make future farming more sustainable— from using biodigesters for managing animal waste to changing land tilling and animal feeding techniques to handle the effects of bigger rain events and higher temperatures.

A Feb. 23 luncheon in Appleton explores the topic.

The program will go from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Veteran farm broadcaster Pam Jahnke will serve as the moderator.

Panelist include: DATCP Secretary Romanski. Rep. Gary Tauchen, chair of the Assembly Agriculture Committee, Jessica Niekrasz, president of Clean Fuel Partners and board chair for the Wisconsin Biomass Energy Coalition, Steve Dvorak, president of DVO in Chilton and designer of a digester now at more than 100 sites in 18 states.

Location
: Fox Valley Technical College’s DJ Bordini Center just off Highway 41 in Appleton.

This event is sponsored by DTE Vantage. The RENEW Wisconsin Energy Fund and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation (WFBF) are also providing sponsorship support. The sponsors made this event possible.
