GREEN BAY, Wis. (July 18, 2016) — Joanna Wavrunek has joined the Dairy Business Association in a new social media specialist role.

Wavrunek (pronounced “Wahv-ruh-nik”) will help the association more deeply engage with members, dairy customers and the general public. She will drive day-to-day interaction on DBA’s social media platforms, execute special campaigns and assist members.

“We are always looking for more effective ways to interact with our members and to connect them to each other,” said Tim Trotter, DBA’s executive director. “It is also extremely important, maybe now more so than ever, that we connect with customers and others who have questions about farming and food. Joanna will help us accomplish both.”

Wavrunek brings a strong mix of communication skills, organizational abilities and knowledge of agriculture.
She was active in the National FFA, was a top Alice in Dairyland candidate this year, and helps on her family’s dairy farm in Denmark, Wis. She graduated in December from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree is communication studies.

“I am excited to use my strengths, background and knowledge to be an advocate for the dairy community,
and I look forward to working with the passionate and progressive people involved in this organization,” Wavrunek said.

Enhancing DBA’s social media presence is a key part of the organization’s strategic plan, Trotter said.

“Social media supports so many pieces of what we do and will be doing to provide value to our members and to help empower the greater dairy community,” he said.
