After last weekend’s heavy snowfall caused barn roofs to collapse, we received calls from members looking for a place for animals that had been displaced.
We used the DBA Facebook page and an email alert to put the word out and quickly were overwhelmed with a positive response from members who had room. We were able to connect them with farmers in need.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are still in need of a place for animals. And, above all else, be careful.
Also, if you had a building collapse on your farm, make sure to contact your local FSA office to discuss available disaster assistance.
Many members have indicated they have damaged buildings, even though they have not collapsed. Be sure to work with your insurance agent and contractors to do proper inspections and check for damage.
